EPT Dublin 2007 Results

The fourth EPT event of season four has been completed in Dublin, Ireland. 221 poker players from 26 countries was in the start field and they all fought over a prize pool of €1,701,700.

The winner, Reuben Peters, was a real underdog when facing a huge stacked Annette Obrestad in the heads up game. Annette was in the end caught up and Reuben got the first place. Below is a list of the the top ten finishes and their cash winnings.

World Series Poker Europe 2007 Results

The first world series of poker * tournament in Europe has come to an end with an amazing winner in all categories. Annette Obrestad, an 18-year old Norwegian, battled through a start field of 362 poker players from all over the world before she finally came out as a winner. The class of the field was very high since this was the first WSOPE tournament hence the prestige to win this first World Series of Poker Europe bracelet.

Annette Obrestad was 15-years old when she started to play poker but this was her first WSOP * event since to play in this event in Las Vegas one have to be 21 years old but in Europe 18 is the required age. Annette is a well known online poker player and has already earned almost $1,000,000 by playing online poker before this win. Annette’s poker nickname is Annette_15.

EPT Barcelona 2007 Results

The first event of the European poker tour, season four, has been completed. The EPT contains ten events which is played at different location starting off in Barcelona. The start field had 543 players coming from all over the world and the winner, Sander Lylloff from Copenhagen Denmark, managed to take down this first event and €1,170,700. As a comparison, the winner of EPT Barcelona 2004, Alex Stevic received €80,000 for the first place.

EPT is one of the fastest growing tournament events and today the winner will be a euro millionaire. Might we see the EPT become as big as WSOP perhaps in the near future?

WSOP 2007 Final Results

World Series of Poker * 2007 Main Event has finished. The prize money was a little lower than previous year but still huge in comparison to other poker tournaments. The WSOP 2007 * is the biggest poker party of the year, which lasts over 1 and a half month and includes 55 bracelet events. The Main Event is a No Limit Texas Holdem tourney and this year there were 6,358 players in the start field. Below is a list of the top 20 finishes including their winnings. World Series 2007 Main Event Final Table

Jon is 34 years of age and professional poker player which is most known from various brick and mortars in England. He is married and has one child. Of all the tournaments before Main Event he was unlucky and didn’t place in the money in one of them. He planned to rebook his ticket for an earlier flight home but found out that this would cost additional $600. He then decided to enter a Mega satellite one day before Main Event and successfully won his buy-in this way. Now, 10 days later he is sitting at the final table 3rd in chips.
He has an overall 10 Cash winnings with a total of $170,211 earned poker winnings before.

Lee Childs is 35 and is born close to Washington DC. He is married and has a graduate in computer-based information system. Two months ago he started to work with “The Jason Project” which is a foundation in order to help students with research and scientific expeditions founded by the same man that found Titanic. To play the World Series has always been a dream and he says the would never had reached this far if it wasn’t for his wife and father and all the support from family and friends.

For 10 years ago Philip graduated in economics in Copenhagen. He started a company and had 12 employees but eventually his company was brought to an end. Instead he had to, four years ago; sell coffee makers in a mall. He now came across net poker and it didn’t take long for him to completely make a living just by playing poker.

Raymond is the first player ever based in Africa to sit at a final table in poker world championship. He is 62 years old married with Teresa and has 6 children. He has several first and second places already in big tournaments in South Africa and recently he finished 4 in the Africa Championship. Tuan Lam was born 1966 in Vietnam. He emigrated when he was 19 to Canada and now lives in Toronto where he also plays professional poker. Before he became a poker pro he was working at a steel factory. This is his third poker championship in a row and he placed himself at 46th place last year and 78th the year before. He is married and has two children.

Alex Kravchenko is 36 years old and a business man. He originates from Arkhangelsk, Russia. He has played poker for 8 years. Alex is married and has two children.
Alex is the first Russian citizen ever won a WSOP bracelet. He won this bracelet in the Omaha Limit Hi/Lo 2007 event in June this year. Alex tournament history is impressive. He won Austrian Master PL and Russian PL Championship 2001 including the Helsinki Freezeout Limit Holdem in 2002. Totally he has placed himself in over 55 tournaments in the money. This is Alex 5 placement during the wsop 2007 that he is in the money.

Lee Watkinson, 49 years old, is a poker pro businessman and animal rights activist. He is one of the two at the table that already has a WSOP * bracelet. This he won in the 2006 Omaha Pot limit event. He owns several businesses one music studio and one clothing brand which he completely financed with his poker winnings.
Together with his wife Timmi DeRosa he also helps captured chimpanzees which have been used in either moviemaking or animal testing. This has today gone so far that he has built an own free place for chimpanzees.

Paradise Poker Migrates Into Boss Media Network

Paradise Poker has been suffering from the US gambling legislation in drop of poker traffic and made the necessary decision to join a poker network. The migration has now been completed.
Boss Media International Poker Network (IPN) is based in Sweden and holds a few big poker rooms like Celeb Poker, William Hill, Svenskaspel, bwin and many more. Boss Media was founded in 1996 and is specialized in e-gaming software and products.

How will this affect the games and players at Paradise poker? Well the base will remain the same but the graphic and feeling will be different (Boss) and hopefully more poker players since it’s a network of poker rooms. One thing is that Crazy Pineapple has been removed but enthusiast can hope Boss Media inserts this in the software later on, otherwise this migration will only be positive.
