PKR Points

You earn PKR points when playing real money ring games or tournaments. You receive 100 points per $1 tournament fee. For ring games you earn points based on the size of the pot and how much money you have put in. The first world series of poker * tournament in Europe has come to an end with an amazing winner in all categories. Annette Obrestad, an 18-year old Norwegian, battled through a start field of 362 poker players from all over the world before she finally came out as a winner. The class of the field was very high since this was the first WSOPE tournament hence the prestige to win this first World Series of Poker Europe bracelet.

The first event of the European poker tour, season four, has been completed. The EPT contains ten events which is played at different location starting off in Barcelona. The start field had 543 players coming from all over the world and the winner, Sander Lylloff from Copenhagen Denmark, managed to take down this first event and €1,170,700. As a comparison, the winner of EPT Barcelona 2004, Alex Stevic received €80,000 for the first place.

When playing online poker one fundamental you will meet is the variation of the competition on the poker table you are sitting at. With players coming and going the competition of the table will change. Sometimes it will be a loose table and other times tight depending on various factors such as your opponents, stacks, table limits etc but the simple rule is that the higher limits the better and harder the competition whilst lower limits tend to be a place for beginners.

Where do I find the soft competition?

Well, one strategy is to visit your poker room and learn how your opponents play, write notes of the poker players in order to choose which players to sit down and play poker with, however, on a poker room with around 50,000 players this will be time consuming and not optimal.
